Description

Lulzbot is once again revolutionizing the field of additive manufacturing. Lulzbot has created an open-source, affordable bioprinter, made in the USA; The Bio. In a collaboration with FluidForm, researchers and technicians can use LifeSupport, a biocompatible support gel for bioprinting research, as the 3D printing medium for collagen, alginate, bio-inks, and other soft materials using FDF (fluid deposition fabrication). The “FRESH” (Freeform Reversible Embedding of Suspended Hydrogels) 3D printing process the Bio utilizes was developed in conjunction with Carnegie Mellon University, where the syringe pump system deposits material in the LifeSupport medium, which is a thermoreversible support gel, that is then dissolved to reveal the 3D printed biomaterial.

UTILIZE 3D PRINTED BIOTISSUE TO REVOLUTIONIZE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

3D printing is undergoing the next big paradigm expansion with the exciting new technology of bioprinting, which will rapidly expand the materials and systems to innovate pharmaceutical development, cosmetic testing, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine. 3D bioprinted tissues can be used as phantom organs that behave just like actual organs or tissue mimics which behave just like actual tissues for surgeon training or graduate research within hospitals and labs. Pharmaceutical organizations can use bioprinted tissues to better predict the efficacy and toxicology of potential drugs early on in the drug discovery process. Even chefs experimenting with molecular gastronomy can design and execute complex and fancy foods, drinks and desserts that have heretofore only been dreamed of. Upgrade your lab, university, hospital or research center today with the LulzBot Bio.
